Engage The Crisis
MEETING NEEDS. MAKING DISCIPLES. MOBILIZING LABORERS.
Engage The Crisis, a relief effort of the Antioch Movement, was created to meet the needs of the large number of refugees currently entering Europe. Our heart is to draw Muslims to Jesus and mobilize this generation to share the love of Christ with these refugees. The Church has an opportunity to define how this historic crisis is spoken about in future generations. Antioch churches are partnering together to see over 2,000 short term laborers serving the refugee population at 6 strategic bases across Europe. Antioch Fullerton is jumping into the middle of this as we "Engage the Crisis."
Over 1,000,000 refugees are expected to move to Germany over the course of the year, creating unprecedented opportunities to serve and minister the love of Jesus. Our friends over there are seeing God move in incredible ways. Therefore, Antioch Fullerton is excited to take a trip to Frankfurt, Germany this Summer to serve and see God move among the refugee population there.

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Q: Where can I go?
A: Engage the Crisis participants will be going to one of six European bases. The bases include Greece, Germany, Italy and Belgium. These locations were chosen for their safe environment and access to the refugee population through a dedicated research team. Your location will be dependent on which Antioch church you will be traveling with.
- Q: What’s the goal of this trip? What will I be doing?
A: There are three goals: Meeting needs, making disciples and mobilizing laborers. In addition to sharing the love of Jesus, activities may include: children’s ministry, sports ministry, forming PTSD relief groups, running medical clinics and organizing anti-human trafficking education opportunities.
- Q: Where will I be staying?
A: Depending on the location, participants will stay in hostels, hotels or local churches.
- Q: How will I be able to talk to these refugees?
A: Aid workers report that a good amount of refugees speak English. However, we are recruiting interpreters who speak any Middle Eastern language to join us. If you would like to volunteer or recommend someone as an interpreter, email us at email@example.com.
- Q: If something goes wrong, who is in charge of keeping me safe?
A: We have a dedicated team for emergency response at each base and our training hub in Amsterdam. Participants will be given emergency contact information for their families when they sign up for the trip.
- Q: Will I be working with other organizations or only with Antioch?
A: Yes, we partner with a rich network of local partners and international organizations serving in Europe.
- Q: Will I receive training?
A: We have a team of experienced social workers and missionaries who are responsible for training and debriefing participants. We will make sure every person is trained adequately to minister on this trip and have the best experience possible.
- Q: How can my friends and family be praying and receive updates about what is going on?
A: In addition to our regular email updates and social media posts the base leaders are responsible for updating the Engage the Crisis Facebook page with current prayer requests and information. (Facebook.com/engagethecrisis)
